Geography


In Geography we have a strong, stable team who strive to ensure students enjoy their learning using topical subjects such as tsunamis or hurricanes and popular topics like crime and sport to engage pupil interest. Some of our students in years 7, 8 and 9 have recently achieved the Global Citizenship Award for work on conservation

Map Skills, Conservation, Settlement/Transport, Geography of Sport

Year 8 Modules
Weather/Climate, Crime, Shopping, Volcanoes & Mount St Helens

Year 9 Modules

Natural Hazards, Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Tropical Rainforests/Brazil, Chico Mendez, Super Powers/Japan

Key Stage 4 Courses
5 lessons a fortnight. GCSE Geography: GCSE Leisure and Tourism

Facilities
Two classrooms with interactive whiteboards - one room with 11 computers and internet access

Extra Curricular Activities


Homework Club, trips, residential at the Conway Centre
Visit by 'Zoo Lab' and endangered animals & conservation

Homework tasks for Yr7 - World Cup Assessment.
