FAIRIFELD IS IMPROVING: OFFICIAL!

I am well aware that in recent years our school has not had the best reputation amongst some people in the community but our school is getting better – official!  Ofsted said 18 months ago we were satisfactory but improving and with a clear direction.  We are now seeing the evidence.

I am delighted to report that:

• Our GCSE results in 2007 are the best we have had and we are confident that we can beat those this year. 
• Pupils attitudes to learning and school have improved over the past two years according to a survey carried out last summer
• 73.3 % parents think our school is good or very good and only 4.5% said poor or very poor
• 41% said our school is getting better, whilst only 8% thought otherwise.
• Parents said our top 3 strengths were 1. Caring teachers 2. Computer access 3. Happiness of the Child
• Attendance is the highest we have had

As a small school, our starting point is to try to personalise education, through building caring and positive relationships, planning learning around needs and encouraging our pupils to be the best that they can be in a warm and friendly learning environment.  We have great people, great facilities and the best performing arts in Halton.  Ask people who attended the recent celebration of 500 years education at St. Luke’s Church and heard our choir sing.
